SheLeadsAfrica

SheLeadsAfrica was founded by Yasmin Belo-Osagie and Afua Osei. It all started when they discovered there were hardly any women at the helm of the conferences and pitch competitions they attended together. Together, they decided to build a platform that would stimulate change and encourage the involvement of more women across various sectors. In 2014, they launched the first pan-African, women-only pitch competition on the continent. Since the success of this competition, SheLeadsAfrica has grown from a platform organising pitch events to an online community welcoming to various ambitious women from diverse backgrounds on the continent and beyond.

African Mommy

The African Mommy community kicked off after its creator, Shile Ismaila, a UK-based digital marketing expert found maternal mortality to be at a disturbingly high rate in Sub-Saharan Africa. In order to solve this, menace, African Mommy provides women with health tips and medical assistance. As an African woman living in the diaspora, Shile also established the platform to enable women of African descent tell stories about their culture, heritage, and every other thing they have in common. Ever since its launch in 2017, African Mommy has been a source of inspiration to thousands of women around the globe providing them with the right tools for success.

WIMBIZ

WIMBIZ which stands for Women in management, Business, and Public Service, is a non-profit organisation for Nigerian women. The idea for WIMBIZ spawned when Chidi Okonjo, the only man among the founding member of the organisation, attended a women conference in the Republic of South Africa. With the intention to replicate this idea in Nigeria, he reached out to like-minded individuals and together they formed the WIMBIZ platform. The founding members of WIMBIZ include Yewande Zaccheaus, Omobola Johnson, Ibukun Awosika, Morin Desalu, Adeola Azeez, Funmi Roberts, Faith Matthews, Mairo Bashir, Toyin Olawoye, Ifeyinwa, Ighodalo, Ifeoma Idigbe, and Chidi Okonjo.  Through annual conferences and lectures WIMBIZ equips women with the knowledge they need to better themselves and improve their finances.
