Texas Tech, Divine Oduduru, has given fans around the world yet another glorious reason to be proud of the Nigerian sprint master.

Oduduru was exceptional at the just concluded Big 12 Indoor Championships held in Lubbock, Texas, where he broke his Personal Bests (PB) records in both 60m and 200m at the event on Saturday.

First, Oduduru dominated the 60m event, setting a new new PB and School Record (SR) of 6.52s, to become the Big 12 Champion in the event.

Later that same day, the Nigerian raised the performance bar to a whole new level when he broke the Big 12 200m Meeting Record (MR) in grand style to claim the 200m title.

A league of his own

Oduduru was leagues away from his opponents in the race, finishing with an impressive time of 20.08s. The Nigerian has now set a new World Lead (WL), SR, PB, and the second fastest time in NCAA history.

His brilliant display for Texas Tech in the event has now moved him to No.3 on the 200m all-time Indoor list, led by Frankie Fredericks (19.92s), and Elijah Hall-Thompson (20.02s).

Fellow Raider, Andrew Hudson, won the Silver medal in the 200m race with a time of 20.55s, while Maxwell Willis of Baylor, settled for Bronze with 20.96s.

Oduduru’s performance over the weekend helped the Texas Tech Men’s Track and Field team make history, as they emerged overall champions of the Big 12 Indoor Championships with 70 points, which is their biggest win so far in the championships.

Oduduru was the top scorer at the games with 20 points from his 60m and 200m triumph.
