The NACC Trade Mission to Washington DC, USA themed
Partnership for Prosperity, came to a close on June 27th, 2018.
The Trade mission which is an annual commitment of the Chamber aimed at promoting the development of trade, commerce, investment and industrial technological relationships between the public and private sectors of Nigeria and the United States and to further drive socio-economic growth and development for all, held from 20
th -27
th June, 2018 in Washington DC, USA.
The 6-day Trade and Investment Mission led by the National President, Otunba Oluwatoyin Akomolafe, had delegates participate in a Business-2-Business matchmaking session at the Nigerian Embassy. In attendance to receive the delegation was the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Sylvanus Nsofor. Participants at the session included business leaders in the areas of project and infrastructure, finance, health, tourism, agrobusiness and also representatives of the Nigerian Diaspora Organization, America
.
Delegates also visited the Center for International Private Enterprise, an affiliate of the United States Chamber of Commerce; US Africa Development Foundation (USADF); Foundation for Democracy amongst others for partnerships and collaborations in various sectors, with focus on agrobusiness, financial services, logistics, real estate and infrastructure.
To wrap up, delegates participated at the African Trade and Investment Global Summit which provided networking opportunities with a larger audience from around the globe with interest in Africa.
The Trade Mission presented an opportunity for sector presentations, round-table B2B meetings and engagement with the Nigerian Diaspora via Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas (NIDOA), providing an opportunity for market expansion, networking, market knowledge exchange, further generating new businesses and deals.
The Chamber will continue to serve as an important catalyst in bringing together businesses and ideals to bolster bilateral commercial relations between Nigeria and the United States, foster trade and commerce investment between Nigeria and the USA and liaising with the Nigerian Government and its agencies throughout the country on trade and industry related matters.
