On Monday Oct 29, Microsoft Corp. announced the Windows Phone 8. According to Terry Myerson, corporate vice president of the Windows Phone Division at Microsoft, windows phone 8 is ” the most personal smartphone there is”. Let’s take a look at some of its features, and you’ll understand why it’s called the most personal smartphone.
Live Tiles: this is an iconic start menu, and it can be customized by pinning your favourite apps, people, music, videos and more. It comes in 3 different sizes, and 20 bright colour choices. The live tiles is exclusive to windows phone 8, and no other phone has it.
Live Apps: with the live apps, you can now get information directly to your start screen, such as flight information, and real time information from apps like facebook. This is another first, as no other phone has the live apps.
Kids Corner: you can customize your phone specifically for your children to play with, without the fear of them messing with your personal files, or making online purchases or phone calls. Parents can setup and activate a special place for their kids, with its customized start screen, with apps, games, music and videos picked by parents.
Rooms: here’s another thing users can personalize, their social network. Rooms allow users to create private groups of people who have Windows Phone 8. So they can chat with a specific group, and not the entire social network.
Data Sense: this is a pretty cool feature, as it helps users monitor and conserve their data usage.
With all these features, do you agree the Window Phone 8 is the world’s most personal smartphone? We do!
