The much talked about and highly anticipated movie, “Married But living Single” from the stable of Indelible mark media, directed by Tunde Olaoye and produced by Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul (KAP) premiered on Sunday, the 3
rd of June at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos at 5pm.
The movie stars Funke Akindele, Joke Silva, Joseph Benjamin, Femi Brainard, Tina Mba, Kiki Omeili, Kb Emokpaire and a host of others. The makers of the movie embarked on a massive publicity campaign including BRT buses, billboards, blogs, papers, radio and TV stations in a bid to ensure that Nigerians were aware of what is about to hit them!
The story is centred around Kate ( Funke Akindele), a creative director in an advertising agency who is married to Mike (Joseph Benjamin) and puts so much time into her work that she neglects her home front and soon pays the price when a rival (Kiki Omeili) begins an affair with her husband. The sub plot revolves around Patrick (KAP) who is a wife batterer and constantly beats up his wife at the slightest provocation.
The movie depicts societal ills as it relates to a family, which everybody can relate to because a family is an all encompassing phenomenon in everyone’s life. Married but living single will surely pass a message across all ages and is one movie that the society at large will benefit from. The movie began its National screening across cinemas on the 7
th of June.
