Instagram is steadily introducing new features (stories, Live, Face filters) to ensure that users can engage closely with their audience. Online events like ‘The
Hallelujah Challenge’ showed how users can utilise the Live feature for the greater good.
To further improve on their platform, Instagram is rolling out an update that will allow users to broadcast live with a friend. From now on, when you Go Live on your Instagram, you will see an option to invite anyone who’s currently watching to join the broadcast. It’s only limited to two participants, i.e. you and your guest.
To use the feature,
Open your
Instagram app, swipe left, and navigate to the Live option.
When people join your Live feed, tap on the new icon on the bottom right, then click “Add” to invite anyone who’s currently watching. When they join, the screen will be divided into 2 vertical halves, and your friend’s video will be shown below yours.
You can also remove your guest when you’re done or add someone else.
You can share the live video to your stories when you end the broadcast. In stories, Live videos with two participants have an icon with two circles stacked on top of each other to differentiate it from the normal Live video.
Update your
Instagram App to enjoy the feat.
