There are bloggers who are instantly successful as soon as they begin blogging, due to some factors. But in reality, this is always in the minority. After the first one year of starting a blog, most bloggers are less enthusiastic and will most likely abandon the craft to begin something else. This is because blogging could be a handful, and might not be all you have envisaged.
The truth remains that with the right knowledge and people, you can succeed in any niche, so this post will share things many bloggers would be reluctant to tell you. Pinterest is a goldmine and effective tool to drive the traffic you need. Here is how to get started.
Choose a niche and audience
You have to know what you want to blog about. More importantly, what you want people to know your blog for. A niche narrows down your content and helps you identify who will be interested in reading from you. There is a conception that you can monetize any niche but it is always easier when you are passionate about what you create content on.
However, if your goal is just to monetize as quickly, you can pick a rave making topic and go along with it. Different niches include food, fashion, health, lifestyle, finance, personal development, faith, relationships etc.,
Niche downwards
Narrowing down your niche makes you easily identifiable. The better you know and can relate to your audience, the easier it is to stay top of mind. To know specifically what you should be about, you can blog on different aspects and study what your audience consistently pays most attention to. This is a great indication of what your niche should be.
Set up your Pinterest account
Set up your account with keywords that make you visible and so you can start driving traffic and sales within few weeks, even before you start your blog. This means you can even set yourself up to start seeing a few weeks instead of a few months (or years) which happens to some bloggers.
Register as an affiliate and start promoting pins
You don’t have to have your own website to promote products, you can use the platform you already are building to promote other products and services. Once you are an affiliate, you can grab pictures of the products that are in line with a niche, and pin them to your boards on Pinterest to promote them.
Pin regularly
The app, Pinterest rewards active users. You can pin within 5-10 pins a couple of times a day, and it will make all the difference. You can use third party apps to pin regularly if you do not have the time to make it as regularly as you ought to.
A blog is something you own and as you grow on Pinterest, you can start redirecting your audience to your blog, as that should be the end game. Your blog, unlike Pinterest, will help you connect to your readers and the response will keep you motivated. With your blog, you can start an email list and have a way to reach your audience without social media platforms, which makes you stay constantly in touch.
Pinterest is a good way to begin, but you must stay reminded of the end goal which is to grow your blog.
