Editing Videos With Google Photos

Google Photos is an in-built app for smartphones operating on the Android OS. And Android users who may not have Google Photos can simply download it from Google Playstore. Using Google photos, you can cut or trim videos you recorded through your camera app.

The following steps walk you through;
  1. Ensure that the video you intend to edit is saved and easily accessible on your Android smartphone.
  2. Open the Google Photos App. Locate the video you want to edit.
  3. Tap on the video you want to work on and you will be presented with a screen that has options such as ‘Edit’.
  4. Once you have clicked ‘Edit’ that appears on your screen, you are now free to work your video through editing options such as Crop, Filter, Adjust, Markup, etc.
  5. With Crop, your video can be rotated and trimmed. The ‘Adjust’ button can be used for brightness, contrast, white point adjustment. The filter can be used to shade your video in diverse built-in hues. Markup can be used to write on your video with a pen or highlight your videos.
  6. Once you are done with your edits, tap ‘Save Copy’ to save the video.
In advanced editing modes, usually, only accessible with desktop editing software, you can add a filter, add Closed Captioning, add stickers and emoji, add artistic touches, change colouring and temperature, adjust the video playback speed, add music to the video, change video resolution as well as reduce video file size.
