Smooth Productions, organizers of the Headies Awards 2018, have unveiled comedian, Bovi Ugboma, and singer, Sheyi Shay, as hosts of this 12th edition of the awards. It will be Bovi’s second time hosting the awards, which is Nigeria’s biggest music award event, having anchored the 2015 edition of the event alongside popular dancer Kaffy. The previous year, the organisers had announced Bovi as host but last minute changes saw Basket mouth taking the job. Sheyi Shay, who has already put out her own version of the Headies theme song, will be trying her hands on the job for the first time. The Headies Awards is an annual event held to reward deserving music artistes, producers, performers. This year, there will be an award for brands that have been supportive of the industry.

Nominees

The event is scheduled to hold on May 5, at Eko Hotel & Suites, after the April 28th nominees party will have afro-pop star, Davido, leading with the most number of nominations (six) followed by Wizkid, Olamide and Adekunle Gold, each with five nominations. Other artistes on the nominations list include Tiwa Savage, Kiss Daniel, and Johnny Drille, with four nominations each; Flavour, Nonso Amadi, Banky W, Niniola, Runtown, Phyno, with three nominations each. .
