Funke Akindele has finally moved into the Hollywood radar as she may be starring in a Marvel movie titled, Avengers: The Infinity War. The Miss Jenifa actor has her name published on the popular IMDb, where it was revealed that she has been listed to play the role of Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female special forces recruited from every tribe of the fictional Wakanda, who serve as the personal bodyguards of the Black Panther. The movie which is scheduled for release on May 4, 2018, would also feature Hollywood stars like Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Tess Thompson and many others. Although no official statement has been made by the Nigerian celebrity actress, Nigerians are hopeful to stroll into the cinemas to watch their favourite superstar. While it may be a minor role, it would surely be a major breakthrough for the actress, who would be the first Nollywood actor to feature in an action movie, a major triumph for the homegrown movie industry. Funke Akindele, born on August 24, 1976, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, is a success story to be identified with from her early days of television series, I Need to Know to her recent triumph in Jenifa’s Diary and many others. Twitter has been going agog with the news.
