  The Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation invites nonprofit organizations and social enterprises to apply for grants to support their projects. ACT Foundation’s 2022 grant cycle targets organizations in these categories that are addressing various social challenges in Africa.

Established in 2016, ACT Foundation is a grant-making and capacity-building body that works with nonprofits in Africa to overcome the many developmental problems experienced by people on the continent. If you run a nonprofit organization or a social enterprise, you should consider applying for a grant from the ACT Foundation.

  • Receive grants that would enable them to strengthen their operations
  • Get capacity building support from ACT Foundation

Eligibility

Organizations intending to apply must meet these conditions to be eligible for the grant:

  • They should be involved with the ACT Foundation’s focus areas: Entrepreneurship, Environment, Health, and Leadership
  • Must have been registered as a nonprofit organization with the relevant legal body within their home countries for at least two years; ACT will also fund social enterprise projects that are not for profit
  • Have other sources of funding; evidence of this will be required
  • Have a strong governance structure
  • The program to be funded should be innovative, impact-driven, and targeted at people living in Africa

The Lead Up To Receiving The Grant

The lead up to being selected for the grant involves the following steps: Step 1: Applicants are expected to complete their online application on the ACT Foundation’s website. The deadline for this is Sunday, November 7. Step 2: ACT Foundation will select a number of organizations that meet their criteria from the pool of applicants, and ask them to submit a full proposal with a detailed budget for the grant. Step 3: The foundation will conduct due diligence and background checks (including physical visits and interviews) on the organizations that have submitted proposals. Step 4: Successful organizations will be informed of the status of their grant application, and be invited to attend onboarding training.
