BONJOUR1 The Federal Executive Council has stated that Nigeria will join the International Organization of La Francophonie (IOF) a body of French speaking nations. This will extend the international organizations that Nigeria belongs to, and will be vital since Nigeria is bordered by French Speaking Nations, and there are several French speaking countries in Africa. The Government said that the move will foster French education in schools, and grow the adoption and use of French language generally. The IOF has 56 member countries and 19 observer nations, and is a powerful bloc led by UN-Permanent Security Council country, France.
