Female Fintech Founder: Oluwatosin Olaseinde

Tosin is a chartered accountant with 10 years of experience in accounting, audit, financial management and taxation. She is the Founder/CEO of Money Africa and Ladda. Money Africa is an ed-tech platform that teaches people financial literacy, how to cut down excessive spending, grow their income and build wealth sustainably.

Early Life/ Education

Tosin was born on 17 December 1989 in Lagos Nigeria. She grew up in Nigeria where she attended primary and secondary education. Her secondary education was at Queen’s College, Yaba Lagos. She studied there from 1998 and obtained her senior secondary school certificate in 2004. In 2005, she sat for the Greenwich College advanced level exams on Mathematics and business studies. And started accounting focusing on accounting, finance, taxation and financial management in 2006. She graduated with second-class upper honours in 2008 and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg. She then went on to obtain Bcompt(Honour) in Accounting from the University of South Africa. Presently, Tosin is a chartered accountant.

Career

Tosin is passionate about Finance and accounting. Something she began to take seriously after learning the hard way.

She had squandered her entire earnings from her salary on frivolities. And ran into a financial crisis when moving to Nigeria. That said, below is her career journey.

Tosin’s first job was a senior Auditor position at Crowe Horwath International, a global corporate advisor. She equally worked with CNBC Africa, an African pay television channel headquartered in Sandton Johannesburg South Africa. There, she served as their financial Reporter/ researcher for 8months from February 2013 to September 2013. After which she left CNBC to work as a financial analyst at Phoenix Global Capital.

She left Phoenix in March 2015 to join Bloomberg television Africa as a Senior Financial Analyst. Working for these media companies shaped her into greatness today. Furthermore, it provided her with a much-needed experience for her future endeavours. One of which is Money Africa, a financial literacy edtech she founded in 2018. Later She would go on to found Ladda( an investment platform) in 2020. She wanted people to learn about Money and where to channel the money to create wealth when it comes.
