The Mara Mentor Foundation launched its free innovative app in May 2014 to “enable, empower and inspire” young business leaders across the country. The launch took place at a grand Democracy Day celebration hosted by our country’s previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, with Ashish J. Thakkar, Founder of Mara Group and Mara Foundation, making the announcement.
The foundation seeks to assist young and women entrepreneurs realise their business dreams through exchange of ideas, guidance, learning and connecting with like-minded people. It also serves as a networking platform with industry leaders and a knowledge base for an ever-changing business landscape regionally and globally. Launched officially in Nigeria in 2013, it has since organised participants’ mentorship by successful entrepreneurs including ElDee, Bankole Cardoso and Greg Odutayo among others.
The application provides the same benefits available on the platform’s official website including the opportunity to follow experienced business leaders to gain wider perspectives on business issues, kick-start discussions for further insights, connection with like-minded entrepreneurs, be up-to-date with industry developments across the country among many others.
