Health Benefits

Drinking rice water is also extremely beneficial for overall health of our body. It is a remedy for constipation and can also help in reducing the risk of cancer due to its richness in fiber. Rice water is a healthful non-dairy beverage, and an effective home remedy for diarrhea, cholera and other gastrointestinal troubles in adults and also infants. As a remedy for diarrhea, add a pinch of salt to a glass of rice water and drink twice daily. Take it until the diarrhea improves.

Preparation of Rice Water

  1. Soaking
Wash and rinse rice thoroughly, place rice in a bowl with 2–3 cups of water and leave to soak for 30 minutes. Strain the rice water into a clean bowl. A simple overnight soak reduces toxins in the rice.
  1. Fermenting
Here you leave the rice water to soak for up to 2 days, allowing it to ferment. Strain the rice water into a clean bowl before use.
  1. Boiling
Rice water obtained from boiling method is very effective in acute diarrhea. Wash and rinse rice thoroughly, cook the rice in boiling water and strain the rice water into a clean bowl before use.
