Researches have shown that despite the country’s economic downturn, Nigerians are still among some of the wealthiest people in the continent.  With all the social media glitz and glamour, if you have ever wondered about how much money your favorite celebrities really have, a recent publication by global financial news, analysis and data portal shows a glimpse of what some of our favorite celebrities are worth.  Below, we have made a list of some of the richest Nigerian women in entertainment.

Sade Adu

Sade Adu is an Ibadan born British Nigerian singer. The 60-year-old leader singer of herself titled band, has have a super successful career in music for almost forty years. she has at least six studio albums and has won four Grammy awards. some of her hit songs include “Smooth Operator” and “Sweetest Taboo”

She holds the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE)

Adu was estimated to be worth about $70 million.

Mo Abudu

The head honcho of EbonyLife Media, and host of the popular TV talk show “Moments with MO” is estimated to have a net worth of $30 million.

Ebonylife TV shows in over fifty countries with branches in the UK and the Caribbean. She has successfully produced some of the most profitable blockbusters in Africa, including The Wedding Party; Nigeria’s highest grossing movie of all time. She is working with Sony on a TV series capturing the secrets of the nineteenth century Dohoney Amazons.

Sophie Okonedo

Sophie Okonedo is an Oscar nominated actress of Nigerian descent. She acted prominent roles in Oliver Twist, Ace Ventura, Hotel Rwanda and more. Okonedo got the Academy Awards nomination for her role in Hotel Rwanda, and a Golden Globe nomination for Tsunami: The Aftermath. like Sade Adu, she was given the honorary title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2019.

Okonedo’s estimated worth is put at $5 million

Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage is one of Nigeria’s, nay Africa’s most prominent music acts, and all her effort is no doubt paying off, as she is said to have at least $5 million in net worth.

Although she has had an impressive musical talent from childhood, she pursued an education in music in the UK, where she also participated in the UK’s X Factor, emerging among the top twenty-four. Although failing to reach the finals of the show, she eventually managed to secure a Sony Music recording deal.

Yemi Alade

Yemi Alade became is born to a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother. She prominent winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, she became a household name in mainstream entertainment with the release of the 2014 second single – the monster hit song “Johnny”.

“Johnny” was not just a Nigerian hit, it enjoyed rave reviews and massive airplay in Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, and in the United Kingdom and many other countries. Uche Pedro

Pedro hold an MBA for the Ivey School, Canada, is an associate of the Nigerian Leadership Initiative, a TedGlobal fellow, and is on Forbes Magazine’s list of the 30 Most Promising Young African Entrepreneurs.

Carmen Ejogo

Carmen Ejogo started as the teenage host of Saturday Disney in 1993, from where she has been featured in a good number of British TV shows. she had her film debut in “Love’s Labour’s Lost” in 2000. She has also acted in “Alex Cross”, “The Purge, Alien: Covenant, and the Fantastic Beasts series. she is also a singer. she is worth $3 million.

Toke Makinwa

Makinwa is best known as a radio personality with Rhythm 93.7FM. She is also a TV presenter, entrepreneur and bestselling author of the book “On Becoming”.

She currently has a fashion handbags and skincare line, and is said to be worth a whopping $2.22 million

Omawumi

The Delta State born afro-pop and soul singer, songwriter and actress and all-round entertainer used to work for a family owned law establishment, even though she had an interest in music. Her entertainment career bloomed and flourished after she placed second in musical TV show; Idols West Africa. She has two popular studio albums, has featured prominently in “Inale” with Hakeem Kae-Kazim, “The Return of Jenifa” with Funke Akindele and Helen Paul and “House of Gold” among other movies and TV series.

Omawumi is worth $2 million.

Mercy Johnson

From acting in “The Maid” just after her secondary education, Mercy Johnson has grown to become an African screen goddess, most often playing comic roles. Some of her most popular works include “Dumebi”, “Weeping Soul”, “Seven & A Half Dates ” and “30 Days in Atlanta”.

She is the recipient of several awards including Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award’sBest Actress in Comedy (2013) and Eloy Award’s Actress Of The Year (2018). Estimated net worth, $1.65 million
