A member of the National Youth Service Corps, Adisa Olashile, has recently trended online for his benevolence towards an old man simply identified as Baba Onilu. Adisa who doubles also as an award-winning iPhone photographer and NFT creator, met the old man at the NYSC secretariat where he and other Corps members have their regular CDS meetings.
Adisa had decided to take pictures of the man and afterwards, he edited the pictures and put them up for sale on an NFT platform known as OpenSea. The picture, which was titled The Drummer’s Joy, was sold for 1.1 ETH. Adisa returned to visit Baba Onilu with 50% of the money gotten from the sale of his picture and made a now-viral video capturing Baba Onilu’s boundless joy and excitement.
Adisa’s kind-heartedness has earned him more recognition than before as his following on Twitter has increased tremendously after the video went viral. Nigerians are getting interested in the idea of minting pictures as NFT, and are connecting with him for more information on how to do so.
An NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency. NFTs have been around since 2014 but currently, they are gaining notoriety now because they are becoming an increasingly popular way to buy and sell digital artworks. Featured Image Source: HausaDrop
