The presenter of Global Public Square on CNN and Editor-at-large of TIME Magazine, Fareed Zakaria, is expected in Nigeria by mid-November for an event, Night of Influence, put together by Airtel. Night of Influence will have Zakaria speak on Africa’s Political Economy: The Challenge of Leadership. Business leaders, top bureaucrats and career folks are expected to attend.
The
outgoing CEO of Airtel Nigeria, Rajan Swaroop, said of the event, that, “The Night of Influence will deepen the interface between our brand and the cream of Nigerian society whose decisions and activities influence – to a large extent – the trend of fashion, lifestyle, and indeed socio-economic development of the country.”
Zakaria interviewed Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s Minster of Finance, when she contested for World Bank President in April. He is an Indian-American, and holds a PhD in political science from Harvard University.
