The mission of Connect Nigeria is to connect people and businesses to the right kind of information required to improve productivity. This year, we have impacted thousands of business and people through various events, services, and products.

Here are top moments this year and the people and organizations who have partnered with us to make it a successful one.

1. The Business Fair

The E-Business Fair is an annual business conference and exhibition hosted by Connect Nigeria’s to expose MSMEs to the use of technology in growing their businesses. Themed E-Business and the Growth of Your Enterprise, this year’s event was a colossal event which saw thousands of MSME owners and startups in attendance and a panel of speakers composed of representatives from Etisalat, Samsung, OLX, FIRS, GTBank, Hotels.ng and a host of others experienced in their fields.

2. Writers’ Conference

The Writer’s Conference is Connect Nigeria’s annual corporate social responsibility for young and aspiring writers. This year marked the 3rd writers’ conference, The Business of Writing III, and it was a great honour to have Eghosa Imasuen, Efe Paul Azino, Adebola Rayo, Okechukwu Ofili and Ike Nnaebue as speakers.

3. Filmmaking Workshop

Just after the Writers’ Conference came the filmmaking event hosted by Treasure Wells Academy and Connect Nigeria. The event was about professional vlogging and how to shoot really good films using a smartphone. Anchored by Ike Nnaebue and Malik Afaegbua, featured sessions included smartphone videomaking, mobile journalism and a workshop where the participants were divided into groups for practicals.

4. Club Connect

At Club Connect, members never have to pay full price again. For an annual membership fee, Club Connect offers members exclusive discounts some of which include 77% off BusinessDay, 45% off AA Rescue, 25% off advertisements on Connect Nigeria, 40% off branding by Platform, 70% off BRT advertising, and lots more. 5. Business Mixer

Connect Nigeria understands the interconnected nature of businesses. This year, our Business Mixers came back in full as a monthly event for connecting business professionals in a relaxed networking environment where they can introduce their brands, share ideas and create a platform for expanding their businesses. The business mixers are free to attend for Club Connect members and non-members can get to pay on arrival.

6. Connect Nigeria app

We also launched the Connect Nigeria mobile app where users can get access to a pool of over 150,000 businesses in Nigeria and browse information on anything from cars, events, real estate, deals, jobs and informative articles on all you need to know about Nigeria. Users can also register, upload their business for others to see, save listings, request quotations from various business offers and connect with other businesses. 7. Partnership Events

One of the organizations we partnered with this year was the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). It was an honor for Connect Nigeria to be a part of the committee that planned the ICTEL Expo hosted by LCCI. It was about integrating technology with business- imagine how much revenue and profit that can be increased, how much time and money can be saved, and how much unemployment will be decreased if every business can be found in clicks.
