Decisions, sometimes, are not easy to make. Especially when it comes to deciding what gift to get for loved ones or colleagues. And when we cannot decide, it poses a problem. SureGifts is the solution to the indecisiveness on gifting. It takes from the giver, the burden of thinking of what to give and from the receiver, the clutter of unwanted stuff. Imagine receiving 20 baby bathtubs on your wedding day. Founded in 2014 by the trio: Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, Adeoyo Ojo and Babafemi Lawal, SureGifts is revolutionizing the way Nigerians give. Simply put, SureGifts is an online gift voucher. In other terms, just like you would send an MTN code to someone via text, you can also send SureGifts voucher codes and the recipient takes the code to any SureGifts merchant stores to receive your gifts. Whilst airtime cards are restricted to only airtime, gift cards are used to redeem gifts from stores. Examples of stores with gift card options are Jumia, DealDey, Game and Spar, and lots more on the SureGifts website. With Valentine around the corner, you would likely want to know how this works. To send someone a gift voucher, first create an account on the website. Then select a category of gifts. This would give you a list of merchants (stores) from which you can select. Proceed to click on how much you would love to give; cards cost for as low as ₦500 and upwards. Gift cards are personalized into different groups, like baby shower or birthday gifts, and cards can be customized with your own message. After making your order, you can deliver to the recipient via email, phone, print or home delivery, after you must have typed in recipient contact. Then proceed to checkout. The recipient then takes the voucher code to the merchant to redeem gifts. Though not many online platforms are credited with being user-friendly on debut, the co-founders of SureGifts have made this possible for its clients. The three have worked at Jumia from where they have gained a pool of experience in online merchandise. Offering a variety of options, clients can swap, merge or split vouchers. And the redemption time is wide, up to one year. Gift cards can also be redeemed online, which offers a one-time purchase, or multiple times in physical stores. SureGifts has proven to be successful, even as Nigeria’s number one gift card technology company; expanding beyond Nigeria, into Kenya, and with Africa in mind. Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, SureGifts co-founder will be one of the speakers at Connect Nigeria’s E-Business fair set to hold on February 27. Click here to register for free.
