  The Halcyon Climate Resilience and Food Security in Africa Fellowship gathers African entrepreneurs to address food security challenges. Founders selected for the program will receive critical resources to accelerate their ventures, expert training, a one-week in-person residency in Washington, D.C., and a one-week in-person residency in Nairobi, Kenya.

Participants in the Halcyon Climate Resilience & Food Security are expected to bring solutions aimed at tackling climate resilience and food security across Africa, including but not restricted to:
  • Climate-smart agriculture and food systems
  • WaterTech
  • Blue economy
  • Renewable energy
  • Green building
  • Climate data

To be eligible for the program

  • You must be a for-profit startup that is building scalable solutions to the challenges of food security and climate resilience.
  • The venture must be based in and/or serving in any African country or country.
  • Your company’s Minimum Viable Product (MVP) must have the potential to scale.
  • Teams may apply with one co-founder.
  • The applicant must be the CEO and/or hold primary decision-making power.
  • You must be fluent in English.
  • The applicant must be at least 21 years old by the start of the program.
  • The applicant must be committed to participating in all activities and programming sessions.
  • Your company must be developing a product and venture that contributes towards one or more of the United Nations’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
