  In a bid to equip youth with the relevant knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage in diplomacy, climate governance, and negotiations within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) processes, the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) is inviting applications for its 2024 African Youth Negotiators Fellowship program.

Since the inception of the African Youth Negotiators Fellowship program in 2022, participants have been opportune to get a comprehensive understanding of the UNFCCC processes and gain deeper insights into the key negotiation moves that shape COP outcomes.

Every year, the program gathers diverse groups of youth from governments, academia, civil society, and marginalized communities, equipping them with the capacity to navigate and meaningfully engage in UNFCCC processes.

To be eligible for the program

  • The applicant must be 35 years old or younger.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong passion for climate change.
  • The applicant must have experience or interest in national and international climate policies.
  • The applicant must be willing to commit to a full 4-week training program.
