  The Women Techies Africa is a subprogram under the platform of the Digital Skills Accelerator (DSA) intervention run by the Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative (AREAi).

The AREAi Women Techies Africa is a program open to adolescent girls, young women, or female students in the final year of their study in an undergraduate program across African universities. These women should be between the ages of 16 and 30 years and must demonstrate a strong interest in building technology-based and in-demand skills for the creative economy. AREAi is reputable as an EdTech non-profit brand that “designs and provides interactive digital and offline learning tools for engaging learning experiences to improve learning outcomes for children, youth, and women that are not in education, employment, or training.”

The program will cut across the following digital skills:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Animation
  • Illustration
  • Product Design
  • Content Creation & Development
  • Motion Graphics & Visual Effects (VFX)
  • Digital Marketing & E-commerce.
