  The Anzisha Prize is the biggest award for young African entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 22. It offers more than USD 140,000 annually in business support and cash prizes to entrepreneurs across the continent.

It is a venture-building fellowship project that prides itself on championing and supporting young entrepreneurial initiatives for over a decade. The Anzisha Prize is a multi-year program reputable for celebrating the growth of businesses and tracking their performances. Businesses that stand out for growth gain several benefits and services, such as cash stipends, short courses, and cloud services. Entrepreneurs also get to pitch their businesses and successes at the end of their second year with Anzisha for a chance to win a share of value in the $50,000 prizes.
The grand prizes are in four categories:
  • The job creation prize
  • Revenue growth prize
  • Storytelling prize
  • Integrating systems and processes

To be eligible for the program:
  • The applicant must be between the ages of 15 and 22 years.
  • The applicant must have an ID document or passport to present as evidence.
  • The applicant must be a citizen of Africa and own a business that is based in Africa or whose customer base is African.
  • The applicant’s business or project can be in any field or industry (science and technology, civil society, arts and culture, sports, etc.). Applicants must be one of the founding members of a business (for example, 2 or 3 co-founders who started a business together).
Some of the benefits of the program:
  • Cash stipends for participants.
  • It is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to shadow a business identified as exceptional in their country or region.
  • Participants also have the opportunity to apply for a professional individual with specialized technical skillsets to work in the business to deliver a technical solution for a specified period.
  • Applicants also get to learn short courses that will improve their leadership and business development skills.

  • A copy of your ID (identification document, passport, birth certificate)
  • Company registration documents (if your venture is registered)
  • Logos for your venture/project
  • Pictures of your project
  • A photo of yourself and your team
