The premiere edition, which gulped a massive N300 million and recorded a whopping  100 million views, held on the twentieth of December, 2017 and hosted thousands of African music fans at the Eko Convention Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event was headlined by Falz himself ando had some of Nigeria’s brightest stars in the industry light up the stage: Davido, Yemi Alade, Reekado Banks, Simi, Ycee, Chyn, Poe, Phyno, and Reminisce.

The event had in attendance, some of the biggest celebrities, from Richard Mofe-Damijo to Toke Makinwa, DJ Cuppy, Frank Donga, Omotola Jalade and more, not forgetting his Excellency, the then governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, and Falz’s own parents Mr. and Mrs. Femi Falana.

In this edition, Falz, Simi, Ycee and others will be performing to over 10,000 fans at the same venue. In the bid to have the gig centred around his fans, the singer launched the #WhatWillFalzDo hashtag, requesting people to suggest what they would like to see at the event.

Explaining the rationale behind this, the “This is Nigeria” rapper said:

“My fans are the core of my career. I’m nothing without their love and support and that’s why I’m putting the Falz Experience together, just for them. I would love to get ideas and comments from them on how we can make The Falz Experience bigger and better, The idea behind The Falz Experience 2 is to bring all their thoughts together to build a fantastic show. It’s a music concert that will incorporate different elements of my art, with support from the many colleagues I have collaborated with and of course, my fans.”

Falz: The Beginning

Falz’s music career began with the music group he founded with his secondary school friends, “The School Boys”. Although his professional career did not begin until 2009, he is known internationally for hit songs like “Marry Me” with Yemi Alade, “Ello Bea”, “Karishika”, “Something Light” and the controversial “This Is Nigeria”; a cover for an original song done by American entertainer Childish Gambino. Falz has also featured in numerous movies, some of which earned him award nominations.

His latest album “Moral Instruction” is already enjoying rave reviews, as it turns the spotlight on the issues plaguing the country.

“The Falz Experience” live concert is slated for Saturday 8th of June, 2019 at Eko Convention Center, Victoria Island, Lagos. It will be produced by Livespot 360. Although the early bird tickets are already sold out, tickets can be gotten online at Afritickets, Nairabox and Ariiya.
