A study by Nigeria Communications Commission, has revealed that data subscription with Airtel between June 2012 – March 2013 grew by 92%. Airtel leads other major operators by a wide margin; Etisalat, 41%, Globacom, 35% and MTN, 2%, and seeks to further grow subscribers. The company
has invested $1.7 billion in the past 33 months to grow quality of service in Nigeria.
The CEO of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, on the achievement said, “It is greatly satisfying to see that telecoms consumers in Nigeria are beginning to realize that Airtel has the widest and most reliable 3.75G network in the country. I want to specially thank all our customers for the confidence they have reposed on us. As a network, we approach service delivery with a sense of constructive discontent. This means that we are not carried away by our excellent performances, we always seek new ways to make our customers feel better.”
