ConnectNigeria-Entrance-To-Yola-Roundabout The President of the Customary Court in Adamawa state has sworn in Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, as the Acting Governor following the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako and the resignation of his deputy, yesterday. Mr. Fintiri will hold office for a maximum of 3 months during which time the electoral commission, INEC, is expected to conduct a fresh governorship election. The Acting Governor, after his swearing in, reportedly promised to pay the civil servants the outstanding two months’ salaries being owed them by the state government after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, froze the accounts of the state government at the beginning of impeachment process against Nyako and Ngilar.
