Pastor Sam Adeyemi is a Senior Pastor and founder of the Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, Nigeria. He is also an author of multiple publications. He is also a renowned motivational speaker and has been recognized by Forbes as one of the most outstanding leaders in Africa. He is also the President and founder of Success Power International and Daystar Leadership Academy.

The teaching of Pastor Adeyemi has transformed the lives of thousands of Nigerians. His teaching has often centered on leadership, wealth creation, entrepreneurship, business, and ministerial growth. One of this most impactful teaching for me is his #RealMoney series. It was a bomb. In this article, I am going to share how Pastor Adeyemi’s lessons on wealth shifted my mind about money and how I began to make money.

  • Money Is Only A Means Of Exchange Of Value

According to Pastor Sam, if you come to the market with nothing you will get nothing in return. This is one of my favorite mind shifts about money. Even if you pray and fast for forty days and forty nights, if you don’t have a value to which you can exchange for money, you will remain poor. The wealthy create wealth by providing values. These values could be skills, talents, products, services, etc. Thus, you have to check yourself and identify what you can take to the market and exchange it for money. The big truth is this, the world is a marketplace and there are people in search of solutions. If you can provide the solution to people’s problems, they will give you their money. Money is no respecter of persons, culture, religion, race, ethnicity, etc.

  • Create Your Market

If you have the skillsets, the talents, the knowledge, the service, but you aren’t talking about it, you are going to remain poor. Therefore, according to Pastor Sam Adeyemi, you have to create your market, that is display your value and beckon on buyers to exchange them for money. Therefore, get your message and philosophy out, disseminate your knowledge, and get people to know you. To create wealth, people need to know you, know your brand, and you need to be consistent in what you do. Aside from this, learn to add value to people, solve their problems and you will get money following into your hands. No one lights a lamp and puts it under the bushel. You have to blow your trumpet.
  • Place Value On Your Talent

One of the reasons for poverty is that you undermine your talent. According to Pastor Adeyemi, people normalize their talents by looking down on them. Most people undervalue their talent because their talent looks normal to them, which is not normal to people out there. This is the difference between the rich and the poor. The rich embrace their gifts, refine them, and place a price tag on them. If you are going to change your financial fortunes, you will have to embrace your skills, talents, gifts, etc. When you see your talent as special, you will be motivated to refine it and put it out there.
  • Engage In Mentoring/Coaching
Mentoring and coaching make your journey easier. The journey to wealth creation is a long road and an unknown terrain. Hence, there is a need to engage in mentorship and coaching. You can reach out to people you want their teachings. There are many mentorship videos on YouTube and other platforms, etc.
