I discovered early enough that the way you package your small business will determine if you will earn the respect of anyone in the business world. The truth is people downplay little things – even in the business world. And if you downplay your business, people will do the same. This is why it matters a lot how you treat your business.

Making your business bigger than the way it is, is one secret many small business owners don’t know. It is not about faking it, it is about making your business stand out through effective brand strategies and the futuristic concept of your business. Playing small in the business world can be damaging. Customers are likely to treat you with contempt. Further, it might narrow your vision for your business. In this article, I argue that magnifying your business is a growth strategy. In this article, I’ll show you how to make your business look larger than life.
  1. Invest In Your Website.
Having a website for your business matters a lot. The fonts, the colour, the images, and the contents must reflect quality and innovation. These days, just like people commonly judge a book by its cover, customers judge a company by its website. Getting a website hasn’t been cheaper in today’s world. You can get a website for as low as N15,000 on WordPress. However, what should matter most is the contents, the storyline and the total image and branding packages found on your websites.
  1. Grow Your Social Media Footprints.
In many instances, your website will not be the first place your prospective customers will visit. It is social media. Therefore, having social media pages is not up for debate. It’s a must. If big companies are having a business page, you shouldn’t think twice about having one. With over 1 billion people on Facebook daily, it is expedient to invest in your social media presence. Depending on what you offer, leverage on a unique social media platform that suits your company’s offerings. For instance, if you run a small consulting firm, it is recommended that you leverage LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. If you’re into Financial Services, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are ideal. But if you run a fashion, restaurant, or catering service, Instagram and Facebook are your best bet.

Further, having a business is one thing, publishing content is another. You must ensure that you are establishing authority in what you do on your business pages. The more content you create, the more you keep your audience coming for more and convert them into leads. Creating a marketing budget is also important, as you get to have money to put into maintaining your social presence.
  1. Register As A Company.
Incorporating your business is another surefire way to make the company look bigger than it is. Registering your business under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) comes with a lot of perks. People tend to take you seriously, as they view you as a professional. It makes your company officially recognised. Further, if you want to build e-commerce, most payment gateways usually demand a business bank account which is only possible through having your business registered by the government.
