The former Nigeria Professional Football League star joined the Danish outfits from Belgian league side Racing Genk on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy during the summer transfer window. Odey who was a household name during his time with the Mountain of Fire Ministries FC, Lagos, has impressed during his loan spell and made the Danish club activate the buy option in his contract. Randers signed Odey on two years and seven months contract, tying him to the club until June 30, 2024. Although details of the fee involved have not been made public, reports suggest that it is in the region of one million Euros which will leave him as the most expensive player in the club’s history.

Reacting to his new contract, the one-time NPFL highest goal scorer said:
“I’m really happy. Because now I do not have to answer journalists who ask if I stay or leave. Now everyone can see that I am a Randers FC player.’’
Odey has featured 15 times across all competitions so far this season for Randers and have scored 10 times. He will be hoping to continue with his brilliant form for the Danish side and hopefully earn a recall to the Super Eagles ahead of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroun.
