The Future Pathways Development Initiative (FPDI) Policy Challenge is now open to entries. If you’re a student at a Nigerian university who’s interested in proposing a change to government policy that could drive unity and positive social transformation, you may consider applying for this opportunity.

The Future Pathways Development Initiative organisers are requesting well-researched and actionable policy proposals from Nigeria’s smartest young minds. The aim is to ignite interest in strengthening cohesion at the national level and get the youth on board with this project.

Persons whose entries are adjudged to be the best among the competing proposals will be awarded cash prizes. They also have a chance of playing a role in the future of policy in Nigeria.

Benefits

These are some of the benefits that participants in the challenge could enjoy:

  • The first-place competitor will get a ₦2 million cash prize and a 3-month internship
  • Second second-placed participant will receive ₦1 million
  • Third third-placed contestant will be awarded ₦750,000
  • Policy proposals from the top 10 finalists will be published in the Policy Challenge Compendium

Eligibility

Prospective challenge entrants are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a full-time or part-time student at a Nigerian tertiary institution as of the 2024/2025 academic session
  • Should be at least 18 years by August 2025
  • Apply part of a team, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 members, all from the same university
  • If selected, they must be available to attend the Policy Conference in Abuja
