For some people, it is easy to know what lights up their eyes when they walk into a room. For others, it takes some extra effort to decipher what you should spend your time doing. Another area of concern could be that you would want your area of passion to pay the bill as well. It is easy to get jealous of people who immediately, have a sense of purpose.
The following tips will help you get a hold of your life, and live more intentionally. This is no guarantee that you will suddenly have a clear blueprint, but you will be better than your current state.
- Set some goals
While you wait to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life, focus on solving immediate problems before you. Study your habits and pick things you would want to be known for. Imagine what the best version of yourself would look like and set goals in line with that picture.
Setting goals boosts your confidence with each achieved. It exposes you to your capabilities and you are more likely to replicate that vision.
- Invest in personal growth
Investing in personal growth might not be as easy as it seems. Most times, we are not even wired to pursue personal growth, but solely rely on doctrine, principles and teachings that have been passed to us. Even if you were placed in the best of environments, personal development is a choice you have to make.
As you continue this journey, it becomes pertinent to ask the following questions:
What are you really good at?
To get the answer to this, you should pay attention to what you do naturally, with the least effort.
What do you enjoy doing?
What is that thing that time seems to be non existent when you begin to do it? Pay attention to what makes you forget everything else.
What can you talk about for unending hours?
What kinds of conversations excite you?
What are you always so eager to share with your close circle?
You will pick up in these signs because when you like something, your voice becomes a bit louder, you are more confident and gesticulate easily. You may want to consult with friends and family to figure this out.
What was your childhood dream?
Sometimes, it is all in the simple, childlike things. You probably already had an idea as a child, and just need to relieve that moment.
What do you always look forward to?
What do you do without getting to feel uninterested?
What would you do if you were not afraid?
If fear was not in the question, how wild and wide would you dream? You might just be the one in the way of its achievement.
What do you love learning about?
If you have a desire to learn something, you just might be on your way to building expertise in it.
As you grow, your answers to these questions become more definite. For the answers you already have, keep exploring them until you reach a resolve on what your passion really is.
