Nigeria, like every other country, has its share of road accidents. Sometimes the damage from these accidents is just a barely noticeable scratch on the vehicles involved. But on many occasions crashes result in major car wreckage or even loss of life.

The government recognizes the risk of events like this, so it’s made third-party auto insurance mandatory for motor vehicle owners in the country. Not surprisingly, many insurance companies now offer auto insurance; there’s significant demand for it. In 2015, Compare Insurance launched with a principal aim: to make it easier for Nigerians to find and compare insurance policies from multiple insurers, on a single platform. In the years that have followed, they have partnered with many of Nigeria’s top insurance providers and listed their offers on its website. At the moment, Compare Insurance focuses on making auto insurance policies and prices transparent and accessible to persons interested in purchasing them. Visitors to the site can compare prices and evaluate covers. They can also buy those policies on the platform, and get documentation and a certificate of insurance immediately. Persons interested in buying auto insurance from Compare Insurance can log on to its website, fill in their vehicle information, and receive quotes from several reputable insurance companies. If they’re satisfied with a particular offer, they may pay for it, and get their certificate of insurance fairly quickly.

Third-party and comprehensive motor insurance are both available at Compare Insurance. There’s even provision for Uber partners to buy insurance cover for their ride-hailing vehicles. Prospective policyholders are often concerned about the validity of the policies they’re offered. Compare Insurance says that its users need not worry, as each policy listed on the website is registered with the Nigerian Insurance Industry Database (NIID). Compare Insurance also says it’s easy for its users to report claims online, and promises that its partner insurance firms are punctual with the payment of valid claims. Buyers can contact the company’s help desk for assistance for as long as the claims process lasts. There aren’t many websites providing the type of service that Compare Insurance offers. They are part of the burgeoning insurtech niche in Nigeria. In the years to come, they may be regarded as pioneers in a movement that will have transformed Nigerians’ relationship with insurance for good. Featured Image Source: Compare Insurance
