If you run a growing business and you’re seeking to expand to new locations, here’s a chance to get the support you need to make it happen. The Franchise Business Development Service (FBDS), Nigeria’s pioneer franchise consulting service, is organizing the Naija Biz Scale Up event for entrepreneurs who want their brands to reach new markets. It’s intended to help them with the insights and investment opportunities required to scale their operations.
The FBDS currently trains local entrepreneurs in the practice of spotting and accessing market openings for growth, and helps foreign investors set up their franchises in Nigeria. It currently works with some of the country’s well-known brands and fast-rising SMEs.
The orientation program, slated for this month, will help attendees with the information they need to build a successful franchise and establish a presence beyond Nigeria’s borders. It specifically targets businesses with two or more branches that are looking to broaden the scope of their operations. Funding opportunities, expert advice, and business packs will also be on offer at the event.
Some of the other benefits attendees stand to gain include:
•Participation in the FBDS’s training program.
•Access to a pool of ready investors, support services, and up to ₦3 million in grants.
•Sector-based intervention.
•Membership of the franchise association at a discounted fee.
•A free copy of the 2019 Franchise Industry Report which gives its readers a glimpse into the state of franchising in Nigeria and where the investment opportunities exist.
The program is supported by some of Nigeria’s key business and development finance institutions, including the Bank of Industry (BOI), the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, and the Nigerian Association of Franchise Business Members (NAFBM).
The Naija Biz Scale Up event takes place on Thursday, September 5, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
