  Applications are currently open for the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee Program. If you have recently graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in engineering, here’s an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience.

The NLNG exists to explore and exploit Nigeria’s natural gas resources for local use and the export market. It has operated with this mandate for over three decades and continues to do so. Its graduate trainee program is part of its goal to equip as many Nigerian graduates as possible with the skills and technical know-how they need to work in engineering and related roles. There are two positions for which NLNG is currently recruiting:
  • Trainee Operator (PO/2021/001): This role involves carrying out daily field operations in an assigned area in a manner that’s safe and efficient, and working to meet daily production targets.
  • Trainee Technician (PM/2021/001): This role involves carrying outfield or workshop maintenance tasks, and ensuring plant integrity and availability.

Eligibility

Candidates will have to meet these criteria to be considered for employment:
  • Candidates for the trainee operator position should have a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical, Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, and attained at least an Upper Credit level
  • Candidates for the trainee technician role should have a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, and attained at least an Upper Credit level
  • All candidates should be proficient in information technology
  • They should have completed the NYSC program no earlier than 2018

Documents Required

Applicants are expected to upload copies of these documents to the online registration portal:
  • Government-issued birth certificate
  • Primary education certificate
  • Secondary education certificate
  • Tertiary education certificate
  • NYSC completion certificate
