With over 150 teams from esteemed institutions worldwide having participated in previous editions, the challenge has tackled pressing topics like “Just and Green Recovery” and “MSME Financing.”

The 2024 edition of the challenge, calls upon students worldwide to explore the crucial intersection of climate action and gender equality. This year’s focus revolves around addressing the challenges posed by climate change, particularly its disproportionate impact on women and marginalized communities. The IFC encourages participants to devise innovative proposals for designing a debt or equity fund that not only mitigates these disparities but also leverages the potential of green economies to empower women in developing nations.

Eligibility

Current World Bank Group employees (staff and consultants) and Category I Relatives of World Bank Group employees are excluded from applying. Category I Relatives encompass relatives by blood or adoption, including parents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
