  The Federal Ministry of Education invites qualified candidates to apply for the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards. If you are a Nigerian looking to study abroad at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, you may consider applying for this opportunity. It gives you a chance to do so while having your tuition fees covered by the Nigerian government.

The Federal Scholarship Board of Nigeria BEA Scholarship Awards is open to students intending to study any of these courses: agriculture, architecture, biotechnology, engineering, environmental sciences, geology, law, mathematics, medicine, sciences, sports, and social sciences.

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Applicants must possess at least seven distinctions (As and Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) in the subjects relevant to their field of study, including English and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not be more than two years old (2023 and 2024) for non-African countries, and one year old (2024) for African countries.
  • Candidates should be aged between 17 and 20.

Requirements for Postgraduate Scholarship

  • Applicants must have a First Degree in at least the Second Class Upper Division.
  • They must have completed the NYSC program, or possess exemption certificates.
  • The maximum age for applicants is 35 years for a Masters Degree and 40 years for a PhD.

Documents to Submit

Candidates are expected to upload these online:
  • Undergraduate: WAEC/WASSCE and NIN slip
  • Postgraduate:1st degree certificate, NIN slip, and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
Candidates nominated by the Federal Scholarship Board will be required to submit these items:
  • Authenticated copies of academic certificates
  • Data page of their current international passport
  • Specified Medical Reports from government hospital
  • Birth Certificate and Indigene Letter
  • Police Clearance Certificate, where necessary
