Movie Review: Grown Ups 2

A sequel to the 2010 movie that generated the popular movie quote for that year- “I wanna get chocolate wasted!”, Grown Ups 2 sees four of Hollywood’s funniest guys come together again in the summertime, on the last day of school. In the movie, Adam Sandler (who co-wrote the movie with Fred Wolf and Tim […]
Movie Review: World War Z

If there is any movie you should watch this summer; that is if you have been living under a rock, or been too busy, or just didn’t want to catch the summer movie bug and decided to stubbornly sit them all out, I urge you to watch this one. Yes, it was that good. I […]
Movie Review: House of Gold

An old man is sick, and so his dying wish is that all the members of his family come and live together under the same roof for seven days, or they would be left out of his will. However, what sounds like a wonderful family vacation shapes up like a nightmare, when it is discovered […]
Movie Review: The Heat

Sandra Bullock is funny, and Melissa McCarthy (from Identity Thief and Bridesmaids) is funny as well. Seeing as I have never regretted seeing a movie with either of these ladies in it, I decided to go ahead and see this one. Was I disappointed? Not in the least bit. Yes, the movie was a little […]
Movie Review: After Earth

After Earth:- The big, blockbuster/only Will Smith movie for this summer. The moment I saw the trailer I wanted to watch it, and I’m sure, so did most of you. It is the usual Will Smith alone in a new earth kind of thing, but the moment you realise Jaden Smith is going to be […]

Movie Review: Fast and Furious 6

As the title implies, this is the sixth offering in the movie franchise Fast and Furious. When I walked into the cinema hall to see this movie I did so with apprehension. I am leery of sequels, I haven’t seen any of the previous movies and I frankly don’t have much interest in car racing […]
Movie Review: Temptation- The Confessions of A Marriage Counsellor

By Ada Arinze Yes, the movie is out now. It started showing at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas yesterday, and you can go here to check for viewing times. DVD MOVIE REVIEW: Two Brides And A Baby.
The new generation of Nigerian movies have mastered one thing very well; how to make beautiful and captivating trailers. The movie trailers draw you in enough to buy the movie for your viewing pleasure. A lot of these movies though only have good trailers and no plot to write home about. The movie trailer has a point but the movie ends up being scattered and confusing with a lot of bad acting. At times, you’d wonder if all the best parts of the movie were used to make the trailer.
