The leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has commenced efforts to organize top friendly matches for the Super Eagles in 2020.
With memories of the 1-1 draw with five-time world champions, Brazil, in a friendly game on October 13, 2019, in Singapore, still fresh in the minds of football fans in the country, former world champions, Italy and Germany, top the list of countries Nigeria intends to confront in order to boost confidence and improve the performance of the Super Eagles on the global stage. This information was revealed by the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mohammed Sanusi.

We want to maximise the FIFA’s windows by playing quality matches. It is not about playing matches but about quality opposition to strengthen the Super Eagles. It is fairly a long time since we played Italy and we will want to take them on again. We also need a friendly match against Germany
