The restaurant sits on King Perekule Road, in the GRA Phase II area of Port Harcourt. While it’s surrounded by various other establishments, it’s hard to miss. The frontal build of its entrance is a combination of finely-glazed brown panelling and grey stone bricks, with glass doors and walls. The “Buns and Batter” insignia atop its entry point is clearly visible. Inside, there’s a predominance of white, grey, and brown, colouring the walls, chairs, and tables. Glass walls at the exit area give visitors a view of the external environment, and the restaurant’s lighting adds to the cool hue of its physical setting. The Buns and Batter menu is graced by an assortment of Nigerian, American, and continental dishes. Breakfast options range from bread, sausages, burgers, and sandwiches, to plantain, egg sauce, yams, and pancakes. Meal combinations here are given interesting names: The ‘Naija Breakfast’, the ‘Epic Breakfast’, ‘The Continental Breakfast’, and ‘The Full English Breakfast’. Lunch servings are just as varied. A popular set of meals are the rice preparations complemented with iterations of beef, fish, and chicken. They include rice with beef veggie stir fry, jambalaya rice, honey mustard chicken, rice with baked fish in foil, and chicken escalope with rice.

There are pasta dishes as well. Spaghetti and meatballs, spaghetti and peppered chicken, Mongolian beef pasta, garlic chili prawns, and chicken alfredo, are just some of the pasta preparations on offer. Salads and sides– French fries, baked potatoes, onion rings, barbeque chicken, and plain plantain –may be ordered along with the main meals. Pastries are a major part of Buns and Batter’s menu (as the restaurant’s name suggests). Items in this category available at the restaurant include spring rolls, wheat rolls, samosa, oat crunch cookies, cupcakes, jam doughnuts, hot cross buns, brownies, and baguettes. Besides its sit-in servings, Buns and Batter also runs an outdoor corporate catering service. This covers office functions, daily corporate lunch, team building menus, boardroom catering, corporate cocktail parties, and tea breaks for meetings. Anyone who intends to hold meetings with a moderately-sized group at the Buns and Batter restaurant can reserve seats for this on its website. Reservations are expected to be made at least 24 hours before the meeting is to take place. Featured Image Source: Buns And Batter
