Bimbeads Concepts recognizes this. So it creates beads, pearls, and pieces made of precious stones for a specific class of customers: entrepreneurs and women in the corporate world. Thus far, it’s succeeding at satisfying this demographic with the wears they want. Founded in 2006 by Abimbola Balogun, Bimbeads Concept has grown into one of the more reputable businesses in Nigeria’s jewellery production niche. There’s evidence for this in the large following it’s garnered on Instagram (closing in on 20,000 as of June 2021). Bimbeads operates out of its store in Ikeja, Lagos, and also sells its pieces to online shoppers on its website. The online store displays a variety of neck adornments and a few earrings. They are made of beads, leather, and gemstones. The products range from slender, simple-looking pearl strings to large beads typically worn for cultural occasions. Specific designs on display at its website include coral beads, single string pearls, three crown coral beads, royal coral beads, petal pearls, and shell necklaces. There’s even more on the Bimbeads Instagram page: engagement rings, earrings, pendants, Segi beads, and green coin pearls, etc.

Each product comes with a label and price tag, enabling visitors to compare products and choose products that fit with their tastes and budget. Buyers will have them delivered to their location of choice after their orders have been confirmed by Bimbeads. Besides its commercial engagements, Bimbeads undertakes Corporate Social Responsibility projects, usually by training people to become skilled jewellery makers. Abimbola Balogun has gotten a fair bit of recognition for the work she’s doing with Bimbeads. She has received coverage from the media, including an interview with the BBC. The company has also won several awards. They include the WED Expo Nigerian Accessory Company of the year (2013), Outstanding Accessory Designer of the Year (2015), and Most Outstanding Fashion Accessory Designer OF The Year by Glam and Essence Magazine Nigeria.
