Senate-Confirms-Zenith-Bank The Nigerian Senate confirms the appointment of Zenith Bank CEO, Godwin Emefiele as the new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The upper house of parliament unanimously approved the appointment of Emefiele to replace suspended Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Senate president David Mark said it was a key appointment, adding: “Emefiele will ensure the prerequisite responsibilities of the central bank governor without fear or favour.” President Goodluck Jonathan suspended Mr Lamido on February 20th just days after he had accused the state oil company of embezzling $20 billion of public funds.
