I love ice cream! Those who know me well will tell you stories about my ice cream cravings and adventures. In recent times though I’ve been too busy to indulge this passion. Today, however, happens to be a very hot day and since hot days are for ice cream, I decided to go out and have a good treat. I chose Sweet Tooth Confectioneries as my good time destination because though I hadn’t been to their spot before, I had enjoyed their ice cream a couple of times.

On arrival, I made an interesting discovery, Sweet Tooth Confectioneries has two sections, a coffee (or what you could call the food section) and the dessert section. I went to the dessert section because na ice cream carry me come. In this section, the decor is breezy and friendly. You would find ice cream, pastries, yoghurt, cakes, banana bread on display here. On enquiry, I was informed that they always have sixteen flavours of ice cream every day. Except for popular flavours which are repeated, different flavours of ice cream are prepared for customers’ enjoyment every day. Some of the ice cream flavours have nuts. Some have alcohol. While some are made with cookies, and others with fruits. I enjoyed two delightful flavours, the double chocolate flavour and the cream and cookies flavour. The yoghurts are unsweetened, they can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. The main flavours are Greek Yoghurt and Island coconut. While the ice creams are sold per scoop, the yoghurts are weighed and sold per gram. Pastrywise, I enjoyed the doughnut. I must say that if other pastries are as delicious as it was, then, the Sweet Tooth brand is surely a winning confectionary brand. There is a popcorn stand and an enclosed playpen for kids outside.

After enjoying my ice cream and doughnut, I went to have a quick look at the Coffee section. Business was slow at this time but I understand that they do a brisk business in the mornings. Anyways, they have an interesting menu. Customers can either have breakfast within or they can pick them up and have them on the go. The decor in this section is cool and elegant. There’s a distinct smell of coffee in the air. On the wall, you’ll find pictures of great men and women who had distinguished themselves in different fields. I find this and books on History and Technology which you would find on the tables a beautiful touch. I won’t end this review without commending Lawrence, the Manager. You’ll find his warm, friendly attitude replicated in most of the staff. I have no doubt that Sweet Tooth Confectioneries will continue to excel under his management. In case you want to visit, Sweet Tooth Confectioneries is located at No. 14 Tombia Street, GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt. Phone: 0908 612 2222 Featured Image Source: The Nigerian Institute of Architects
