Program Objectives

The NBA Africa Triple Double Accelerator Program aims to support African startups by providing mentorship, access to capital, and invaluable resources. By fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, NBA Africa aims to drive economic growth and contribute to the development of African economies.

Prizes and Benefits

Participating startups stand a chance to win cash prizes and value-in-kind support, including:
  • 1st Place: $50,000 cash prize and $50,000 in value-in-kind
  • 2nd Place: $40,000 cash prize and $40,000 in value-in-kind
  • 3rd Place: $30,000 cash prize and $30,000 in value-in-kind
  • 4th Place: $20,000 cash prize and $20,000 in value-in-kind

In addition to the monetary rewards, selected startups will benefit from:
  • Opportunities to connect with top business leaders, corporations, and multinationals through mentorship programs.
  • A chance to pitch to global industry leaders at Demo Day in New York City, opening doors to potential partnerships and investment opportunities.

Eligibility

To qualify for the NBA Africa Triple Double Accelerator Program, startups must meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Operations headquartered in Africa, demonstrating a commitment to the continent’s growth and development.
  • Product alignment with one of the five Sports and Creative startup categories, ensuring relevance to the program’s objectives.
  • Proven demand for the product and/or service, evidenced by a strong customer base and/or revenue stream.

  • Demonstrable impact and relevancy to the broader African continent, contributing to social and economic advancement.
  • Startups operating in the following categories are encouraged to apply: Live event and ticketing, digital fan platforms and connectivity, AI for consumers, investing in youth, and other sports and creative startups (especially those disrupting any sectors within sports, entertainment and creative industries)
