“You never know what you are capable of until you are faced with a situation you know you can’t handle. We had high hopes of making a great movie, we had high hopes of good financial support, I even danced the day we sealed the deal but a week to principal filming, our investors pulled out. I was really worried and so scared because we had signed contracts with crew from America, South Africa, Nigeria and other countries…. “We decided to move on with our five loaves and two fishes- this really is the miracle that saw us through the project.”-Rogers OfimeThe Hausa feature film is a story of love and the power of dreams in the midst of the violence and terrorism in Nigeria’s northeast and is based on eyewitness account. It follows the story of a bright, promising girl, Salma who was held captive by a daring terrorist group along with 245 of her schoolmates. Despite her seemingly hopeless reality, she refuses to give up on her big dreams. She crosses paths with Goni, a member of the sect who has had a similar unfortunate experience as Salma. They fall in love, get married and start a family, but things are far from happy-ever-after. The director Robert Peters is also a film producer, actor and cinematographer.
