Millions of businesses across Nigeria battle on a daily basis to make the most of their operating environment. They stave off the threats to their success, and seek opportunities that exist for growth and expansion. But for all the great work they do and the quality products and services that many of them offer, they do not get the credit, attention and help they deserve. This is due in part to the tendency of many Nigerians to accord greater respect to foreign producers and products, to the detriment of locally made goods.
The Made in Nigeria Conference and Exhibition has been initiated to help come up with practicable ways of solving this problem. The one day event, organized by the Made in Nigeria Project, creates a platform for stakeholders in Nigeria’s economy to discuss and clearly define solutions to the problems facing SMEs, startups and growing businesses in the country. Investors, innovators, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and members of the business community will converge at a central location to plot the way forward for industry by sharing ideas, analyzing strategies, networking and promoting the made-in-Nigeria brand.
This year, the Made In Nigeria Conference runs with the theme, Possibilities Made In Nigeria, and will be focusing on youth entrepreneurship, furthering social development and driving national orientation. This agenda will be explored throughout the program’s events- keynote address, guest speaker presentations, exhibition hubs, and panel sessions that will thrash out issues related to the conference’s theme.
Speakers at the conference include Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment; Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Pat Utomi, professor of political economy and management; Waheed Olagunju, CEO and Acting Managing Director of the Bank of Industry (BOI); Tara Fela-Durotoye, founder, House of Tara; Jumoke Oduwole, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industry, Trade, and Investment; and a host of others.
Exhibitors at the event will be drawn from various sectors- information and communication technology, banking and finance, management, professional services, textile and crafts, metal processing, and design related services.
The Made In Nigeria Conference and Exhibition will hold on Tuesday, 29 November, 2016, at the Landmark Center, Victoria Island, Lagos. To find out more about the event, click here. You might also like:
