Iheanacho joined the league of Nigerian players to have scored a hat trick in the history of the Premier League after scoring three times against Sheffield United on March 14 in a 5-0 home win. The Nigerian and his English teammate, Jamie Vardy, has formed a strong partnership in attack for Brendan Rodgers in the absence of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. Popular among his fans with the nickname ‘’Seniorman Kelz,’’ Iheanacho also scored in Leicester’s vital 2-1 win against Brighton and their 1-1 draw against Burnley in the Premier League.

Reacting to the award, the Super Eagles star thanked his teammates for the support and expressed his delight at playing at the moment.
