Nigeria and Israel have signed a new bilateral aviation agreement for direct flights between the two countries without stop-overs. This adds to list of bilateral air service agreement that Nigeria has signed with countries in recent months, including Brazil. President Goodluck Jonathan who is on pilgrimage to Israel, will meet with Israeli Prime Minster, Benjamin Netanyahu, and President Shimon Peres, to improve ties between the two countries.
Speaking on the agreement, Nigerian Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah said, “The agreement will pave way for direct flights into the two countries. Before now, Nigerians travelling to Israel, including Christian pilgrims have had to endure the long winding stop-overs in neighbouring countries before being airlifted to the Holy Land.”
