First, let’s learn what a null file is.
What Is A Null File?
If a file has the extension .null, it’s typically an indication that the data file format has been corrupted. Certain third-party Windows applications may generate a file with corrupted content. These files come with the .null extension suffix. There are many reasons why this could happen. They include problems with the program that generated the file, or a bug encountered by the reader application. Sometimes it also happens when the file is empty.Sign up to the Connect Nigeria daily newsletter
How To Open A Null File
First, try opening the file with the existing programs on your computer. To find out what type of file it is, right-click it, and select ‘Properties’ from the menu that appears. Have a look at the ‘Type of File’ to see what kind of file it is. Some existing programs on your computer may be able to open it, depending on what kind of file it is. If this doesn’t work, you can open the null file with a universal file viewer. There are many such programs available for free on the web. Simply download one, install it, and view the file with it.
