Last month, Connectnigeria.com reported on the release of Jobberman’s first Salary Survey Results. Now another survey by Jobberman is on: the Fuel Subsidy Removal Impact Survey. Earlier this year, in January, hundreds of thousands of Nigerians across different states marched in protest against the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidy which increased the price of a litre of petrol from N65 to N140. The massive revolt resulted in the re-adjustment of the price to N97, which was still bad news. Every Nigerian has been affected in some way by the Fuel Subsidy removal. Even if you earn above half a million naira a month, and you have more than enough for your needs, you must have had to pay a little more for some goods and services. Something I’d like to call the “Subsidy Effect”. The cost of practically everything has increased — from transport, to housing, and to food. Even the tomato seller said “Na fuel, no be me”. How has the Fuel Subsidy removal affected you? Go to the Fuel Subsidy Removal Impact Survey, and have your say. Here is an excerpt from Jobberman on the release of the survey:
The Federal Government has since reduced the price from N140 to N97. Subsequently, people adjusted to the trend. However, there was no corresponding increase in salaries as organisations started working on cutting costs. The effects of the hike still live with us. It is becoming worse especially when many are speculating the return to N140. This survey is aimed at getting the effects of the fuel subsidy on Nigerians and also to investigate changes in consumer habits in light of the partial removal of subsidy on petrol. You have no reason to be afraid of participating because it is anonymous and all information provided will be treated with highest confidentiality. How has the Fuel Subsidy affected you? Fill the survey here at Subsidy Impact Survey. If you have already done that, don’t keep it secret. Share the news with your friends, colleagues, and family who are yet to know. Have it in mind that there is power in information especially when it comes to guiding crucial decisions related to making you better in a developing economy.
